Function over aesthetics
Jordyn, founder of Airway Jordyn
My story

“For me, jaw surgery was never just about appearance. It was about breathing, sleeping, functioning — and getting my life back.” — Jordyn

My case didn't look severe from the outside. Underneath, a high-vaulted palate, limited tongue space, and severe sleep apnea were quietly shaping how I slept, how I recovered, and how my nervous system worked.

Double jaw surgery, expansion, and the long, confusing process around it changed how I understood my whole body. Sleep, energy, brain fog, exercise capacity, and nervous-system symptoms turned out to be far more connected than I ever realized — and improving my airway is a real part of my own remission story.

I went through the pre-surgical orthodontics, the expansion planning, the genioplasty decisions, and the recovery myself. Now I use what I learned — as a patient, not a doctor — to help other people find their footing when everything feels overwhelming.

Who these calls are for

If any of this sounds familiar, you're exactly who I built this for.

"I've gotten mixed recommendations from different providers and don't know who to trust."

"I'm at the very beginning and don't even know where to start."

"I'm not sure if I need MARPE, MSE, expansion, or full jaw surgery."

"I have snoring, night-time choking, mouth breathing, brain fog, or possible sleep apnea."

"I worry my early orthodontics focused on looks over function."

"I'm scared of making the wrong, irreversible choice."

That's exactly what a call is for. See consult options

Common questions

The things people ask me most.

Pulled from real consult conversations. Still have a question? A call is the best place to get it answered.

Book a consult
Do I actually need jaw surgery?
I can't diagnose you — but I can help you understand which questions to ask, which tests give real answers, and how to tell whether you're looking at orthodontics, expansion, appliances, or surgery. Most people reach me in the confusing middle stage and leave with a clearer sense of their next step.
How are POTS and airway health connected?
This one's personal — it's a huge part of my own story. What I've learned, as a patient and not a doctor, is that your airway, your sleep, and your nervous system are far more connected than most people are ever told. When your airway is compromised and you're not truly resting at night — think untreated sleep apnea, choking, or waking up unrefreshed — your body never fully recovers, and your nervous system can get stuck in fight-or-flight. Over time that strain can show up as the fatigue, brain fog, racing heart, and dysregulation so many of us know too well. Addressing my airway through my custom jaw surgery played a real role in my own POTS remission. I'm not saying surgery is the answer for everyone — but if you've ever felt a little crazy for suspecting that your jaw, your breathing, and your nervous system are linked, you're not. It's one of the biggest things I help people make sense of.
MARPE, MSE, or full jaw surgery — how do I know?
This is one of the most common things people bring me. We talk through what each option actually does, why the right choice depends on the amount and direction of expansion you need, and how to get a real answer from imaging instead of from the internet.
Are you a doctor? Can you diagnose or treat me?
No — and I'm always upfront about that. I'm a patient advocate and peer guide, not a clinician. Everything I share is educational and based on my own experience and research. I help you prepare for and make sense of the care you get from qualified providers; I don't replace it.
What tests should I get, and in what order?
Depending on your situation, that often means a sleep study, AHI documentation, and a CBCT scan to assess airway and palate structure — traditional x-rays are limited here. I'll help you think through a sensible sequence so you're not paying for the wrong test first.
Will jaw surgery change how I look?
It can, and that's a real, valid concern. My whole approach frames surgery around breathing and function first — but we can absolutely talk honestly about aesthetic changes and exactly what to ask your surgeon about them.
What is recovery actually like?
I've lived it. The first week is the most challenging, swelling tends to peak around days four to five, and the major swelling usually subsides within a couple of months while the last bit can linger. I'll give you realistic, lived-experience expectations — including planning surgery around school or work.
